All the content of the homepage is based on posts or pages. i.e we need to choose a page or post as a content type to show the content of the selected page/post for all the homepage sections

In the screen recording, I have shown how to set the homepage and change the contents of the homepage sections. Similarly, you can change the content of the other sections

All our themes are based on classic themes and follow the same way for setting up the homepage and homepage sections

Currently, we have one theme that is based on Block Theme ( Full Site Editing Theme ) “Signify Block Pro”. But it does not match your site since it’s not an education-based theme

Regarding the option for changing the Theme Color, we will be adding a color picker option for the theme color same as the Header Text Color and Background Color

Very disappointed with that.
Since this is not the case can I switch to a different theme that is more customizable from the start than this one?

If you are referring to the slider that is displayed on the front page then its height can be adjusted according to the image size. If you want slider of smaller height then you can upload the image of smaller height as slider will adjust its height according to the image height.

If you are referring to the image that is displayed on the header of other images then you can decrease the size by adding below given custom CSS.

For this go to Admin Panel > Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS and paste the CSS.

    padding: 257px 0;
}

We are not quite clear what you exactly mean by displaying a monthly calendar. So please can you explain it more clearly with the proper screenshot along with the site URL.

Also, we have not made it compatible with the Woocommerce plugin or the event plugin that you are using.

Further, please have a look into the demo clearly so that you will be clear on how the theme will work
